It is used to make other copper salt, cuprous chloride, cuprous oxide, etc in the chemical industry. In dye industry it is used to produce monoazo dyes containing copper such as reactive brilliant blue, reactive violet, phthalocyanine blue, copper complexing agent, etc. It is also catalyser for organic synthesis, spices and dye intermediate bodies. In medical industry it used as astringent or raw material to produce isoniazid and pyrimethamine. In paint industry it is used for copper oleate as antifoulant on ship bottom, in plating for copper plating of sulfates, in food industry for biocide and nutrition additive, and in agriculture for bactericide and pesticide.
The copper sulphate is a highly efficient bactericide preventing a variety of pests and being nonvolatile, effective and easy to maintain. It is matched with quick lime and water for spraying. Avoid use of metal containers during formulation to prevent corrosion. Avoid moisture in storage.
