Ferrous sulfate is the most widely used as a flocculant, as flocculant has the following advantages: Settlement rate, large granular sludge, the sludge volume is small and dense, in addition to good color effect (very suitable for dyeing, washing and other textile wastewater treatment), non-toxic and beneficial biological growth (ideal for use in subsequent biochemical treatment process wastewater treatment system), do not change the original technology, low prices, as a flocculant, ferrous sulfate can replace polymeric aluminum, basic aluminum chloride, polymeric iron, aluminum sulfate, ferric chloride and so on. Ferrous sulfate is a strong reducing agent, can restore the moisture content of hexavalent chromium electroplating plant wastewater into trivalent chromium, instead of expensive sodium sulfite, sodium bisulfite, sulfur dioxide. The advantage is not toxic carcinogenic chlorine irritation (mostly the two hydrogen sulfide), low prices.
