Laminated Glass Information
Laminated glass is made of two or more layers of glass with one or more interlayer of Poly Vinyl Butyral (PVB) bonded between the glass layers. Laminated glass offers many Safety and security advantages, rather than shattering on impact, laminated glass is held together by the interlayer, reducing the safety hazard associated with shattered glass, as well as the security risks associated with easy penetration.
The laminated interlayer can also provide other qualities, such as color, acoustic performance, UV filtering and resistance to fire. Laminated glass is used extensively in building and housing products, with particular prominence in the Commercial glazing market.
