Solvent Based Organoclay Rheological Additive SG-58
SG-58 is a revolution of organoclay rheological additive. It is used in systems containing medium and high polar solvents. SG-58 is more dense, less dusty, easier to handle and use, and has improved stability.
Advantages
Super dispersing property. Easy to use and handle.
Viscosity stability
No need for polar activator, no need to make pre-gel.
High efficiency
Economic
Typical properties
Composition Organic derivative of a montmorillonite clay
Appearance Fine powder, off white
Moisture content (105, 2hr) <4%
Loss on ignition 34-37%
Bulk density 125kg/m3
Application
To replace fumed Silica.
To replace common organoclay.
It is suitable for styrene and alcohol solvent, especially for polymer resins such as unsaturated polyesters, epoxies, and vinyl esters.

Plastic
Using
SG-58 can be added directly in powder at any point of producing procedure. Its addition level is typically 30-50% less than Fumed Silica use levels. Normally addition level in paint is 0.2%-2.0%. The exact dosage will vary depending on the individual system.
