Sucralose is an artificial sweetener. It is noncaloric. In the European, E number is E955. Sucralose is 320-1,000 times as sweet as sucrose, twice as sweet as saccharin, and 3 times as sweet as aspartame. It is stable under heat and over a broad range of pH. Therefore, it can be used in baking or in products that require a longer shelf life.
Sucralose has been accepted by lots international food safety bodies, including the FDA, Joint Food and Agriculture Organization / WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, the EU's Scientific Committee on Food, Health Protection Branch of Health and Welfare Canada, and Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
Sucralose also can be used as a sweetener in nutritional supplements, medical foods, and vitamin/mineral supplements.
