Tapioca, is dry powder after starch extraction and dehydration of cassava. There are two kinds of cassava starch: ordinary and all kinds of modified starch. They are widely used in food industry and non-food industry.
Color: Cassava starch is with a white color
Oder-less: with no peculiar smell, is suitable for the need of fine tune the smell of the product, such as food and cosmetics
Tastes insipid: Cassava starch no taste, no aftertaste(such as corn), so comparing to ordinary starch, it's more applicable for fine-tuned taste products such as pudding, cake and filling cakes, etc.
Paste clarity: after cooking cassava starch, the paste formation is clear and transparent. It is suitable for coloring pigment. This feature of cassava starch is important when used in high-grade paper sizing.

Application
Food
Tapioca starch is widely used in food formula such as baked products, also applied in the squeezed snacks and cassava grains of bead. Modified starch and starch derivatives have been used as thickener, binder, bulking agent and stabilizer. It's also the best incremental agent, sweeteners, flavor agent carrier and fat substitutes. Food using tapioca starch including canned food, frozen food, dried food, baked food, leisure food, seasoning, soup seasoning, sausage, dairy, meat and fish products, baby foods.
Drinks
Modified starch is used as colloid stabilizer in the drinks containing solid ingredients. It is better than sucrose, because it improves the processing procedure and strengthens the product features, it can fully meet customers' demands with other sweeteners. Cassava starch hydrolysis form the high degree hydrolysis syrup, which is a good source for brewing.
Candy
Cassava starch and modified starch has many uses in candy production, such as gelation, thickening, stable system, enhanced foaming, control crystallization, bind, film foaming, add luster, etc. Low viscocious cassava starch is used in gelatin candy, such as jelly and gums. Acidolysis starch is the most commonly used for it has excellent reversing&gelling ability. The dry starch was used as candy mold release agent. Cassava starch base syrup can be produced in low cost by acidization enzyme solution. Used as raw materials for chemicals like MSG, amino acids, organic acids, ethanol, acetone, vitamins&antibiotics, etc.
Adhesive and glue
Cassava starch dextrin is excellent adhesive, it has used in corrugated cardboard, paper bags, plywood, adhesive paper&tapes, labels, stamps and envelopes.
Paper
Modified starch used in paper industry can improve the paper quality, increase productivity and utilization rate of pulp. Cationic starch are used in flocculation pulp, improve the efficiency of wet end dehydration, it improved paper machine speed and get higher utilization rate of pulp. The starch remained in the paper as internal sizing agent can increase the strength of paper. Low viscosious starch, oxidized starch, for example, can be used as a surface sizing agent and improve paper strength are absorbency of printing&writing. Modified starch is also used as binder in the paint coating to produce smooth&white high-grade paper.
Textile
In the textile industry in order to improve efficiency of textile, cassava starch is often used as sizing agent to harden and protect yarn. As a finishing agent to produce high quality fabrics, used as a toner to obtain clear&abrasion resistant printed cloth. For textile application, it is ideal to use mild steamed starch.
Medicine&cosmetics
Cassava starch can be used as pill adhesive, incremental agent and disintegrating agent. Special modified starch can be used as emollient carriers--usually is mineral oil-based substance. Other starches can be used as emulsifier, sealing capsule, tackifier(hair mousse), and thickener(shampoo), etc.
Biodegradable materials
