2. VCI-396 Description:
VCI-396 is high solid content, moisture-curing polyurethane anti-corrosion coating with leading vapor corrosion inhibitors(VCI) technology. VCI works by emitting a vapor which forms a microscopic layer on metal surfaces. This layer offers additional protection and act as a barrier inhibiting the contact with chemical compounds or corrosive materials. Therefore, VCI-396 is able to protect metal components against degradation due to moisture, salt spray, oxidation or exposure to a variety of environmental or industrial chemicals.
Usually, VCI-396 premier is qualified for many occasions, also we offer special finish coating to match our VCI-396 premier to meet higher requirements.
VCI-396 is inclined to provide triple layers to stop the corrosion.
Layer 1: high performance pure polyurethane film
Layer 2: superfine aluminum powder
Layer 3: VCI vapor corrosion inhibitors

6. Installation Application
VCI-396 is formulated to be as supplied. Ensure uniform consistency prior to use
1. Recommended application temperature is -7 º C-38 º C, ventilation is needed, fireproof tools are needed;
2. Maximum performance of VCI-396 can be achieved only when the metal surfaces to be
protected are clean, dry and free of rust, oil and mill scale.
3. Decide the thickness based on actual requirements and the first layer should be about 25μm, subsequent layer thickness no more than 50μm. Application is forbidden before previous layer be dry, and total thickness is achieved layer by layer .
4. Recommended thickness is 25μm, 21/kg, loss should be in consideration in application.
VCI-396 Application Notes:
1. Mixing, mixing time is more than 2 minutes until homogeneous(nothing added), then placed for 10 minutes before application.
2. Application is proceeded when the temperature above 5 º C, humidity between 20%-90%
3. Remaining coating should be sealed from air, storage 0 º C-40 º C.
4. Application tools should be washed immediately after application.
