Gabion Wire Meshes
1. Gabion are environment friendly and cost effective comparing with other options. The advantage of cost and the fact that gabion box can with stand the bad environment for very long time have made the use widespread.
2. Gabion boxes are wire containers made of hexagonal wire nettings. Wire diameter varies with the hexagonal nettings. For hexagonal wire netting with no PVC coating, the wire diameter rangs from 2.0mm to 4.0mm. For those PVC coated hexagonal wire netting, the outside diameter ranges from 3.0mm to 4.0mm. The wire of the outside frameedge is one wire gauge thicker than the wire used for hexagonal wire netting.
3. The gabions boxes have the following characteristics:
(1))Economic, just fill the stone into the gabions and seal it. (2)Simple installation, no special technoligy needed.
(3)Weather proof under natural destory, corrosion resistant.
(4)Sludge in the stones is good for plant growing. Mixed to form a integrity with the natural environment.
(5)Good permeation can prevent the damage by hydrostatic.
(6)Less transport freight. It can be folded together for transport and further installation.
(7)No collapse even under big scope of deforming.
4. Applications:
Gabion box is very useful in various fields, first, it can control and guide water or flood. Second, it could protect the water and soil. What is more, it can also protect the bridge and seaside area. Uniquely, it will prevent the rock from being broke and strengthen the structure of soil.
