Product Description

1. The cooling of data centers and network rooms has emerged as a significant challenge as the density of computing equipment increases. Server consolidation projects, along with the shrinking physical size of servers and storage systems, have resulted in high power density and high heat density. Even though the typical per-enclosure power consumption in a data center remains on the order of 1 Kw, equipment may be configured that draws over 15 Kw per enclosure. Furthermore, the introduction of high density enclosures into a data center creates the potential for "hot spots" within the room that the cooling system may not be able to address.

2. AIRFACT Ltd provides reliable, energy-saving solutions of air conditioning system for IDC rooms and racks after sever years of developing and on site testing. These solutions could be applied to solve the cooling situation with the high energy-consuming and high power density enclosures. Applying integrating IDC room which contains about 20 racks of the integration system of air conditioners, power distribution, UPS, control system with cabinet and sealing component to decrease the investment and shorten the construction duration dramatically. These products is also suitable for normal low density IDC but with high density zone to solve the central cooling problem. The cooling in row solution is more suitable for the middle and big size of IDC with more than 20 high energy consuming. Such solution could better prevent the mix between cooling air and hot air to increase the cooling efficiency. The module design is also much easier to expand when demanded in the future

3. Solution for Smaller Data Centers and 'Hot Spots'
If the project owner has knowledge of the IT equipment associated with the planned high-density pod (e. G. Total power requirements, plug requirements, rack U-height requirements and communications cabling requirements), then the owner can easily choose smaller sized pods or smaller data centers. A smaller data centers normally are included standard design components such as air conditioners, power distribution, UPS, control system and racks. Further more, all such components must be expandability and redundancy in module, In addition, standard dimensions play a key role in predictably isolating hot and cold air flows. Standard dimensions include hot / cold aisle widths, rack height, and standard (short) airflow travel distances.

4. Working Principle and Application
This system is integrated with a cluster of IT racks with a high density air conditioning system and high density power distribution system in a premanufactured, pre tested unit. The principle of this system is the capture of Diagram 2 Diagram 3, all IT equipment exhaust air by enclosing the hot aisle, and then immediately cooling this air using a rack-based air conditioner. The capture of the hot air combined with the short air path allows very high density cooling with high efficiency. The performance of this system is completely independent of the site (even in locations where only comfort air is available) and can be installed without a raised floor.
