What are Kolortek Pearl Pigments?
Pearl pigments are crystalline platelets of mica coated with various metal oxides that produce unique luster effect.
The coating of Titanium Dioxide on mica results in silver and interference colors like gold, pink, blue and green. The coating of Titanium Dioxide and/or Iron (III) Oxide results in "metallic" colors like gold, bronze, copper and maroon.
The luster in the finished products varies with the particle size of Kolortek Pearl Pigments used. Smaller particle sizes impart an opaque and satin sheen, while larger particle sizes create a transparent and glitter like effect.
