The wild lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea L. ) is a member of the cranberry family and is known in various places sometimes called as the northern mountain cranberry, moss cranberry, alpine cranberry, cowberries, partridgeberry, red whortleberry, and foxberry. It is a woody, super hardy dwarf perennial evergreen shrub, low-growing circumpolar groundcover closely, slowly spreading through underground rhizomes reaching 10 to 20 cm high. It distributed worldwide in northern temperate, boreal, and subarctic areas.
The lingonberry grows upland on dry forest soil, typically in pine forests and lichen heaths where the undergrowth is not very dense. The dark red berries can be found growing in clusters on short shrubs close to the ground. The thick, wax-coated leaves on the shrubs are colored dark green. Lingonberries bloom in June - July and are ripen and ready for picking in late August or very early September and the season lasts to the end of September.
Lingonberries have a long history of use throughout the world. The berries are delicious and beautiful red, have a slightly tart taste when eaten fresh, but with a finer flavor and really excel in sauces, jams, jellies, and wines. It be used in different kind of jams, jellies and juice. Lingonberry jelly flavors meat courses especially nicely. Whipped Lingonberry pudding served with cream is a traditional Finnish dessert. Lingonberry can also be used as spice in bread. Sharptasting lingonberry juice can be served with meal, and due to its distinct flavor. Bartenders often like to use it in drinks. In Europe, Lingonberries have a long history of medicinal uses, from lowering cholesterol levels to curing gastric distress and rheumatism.
Eurasia Foods Co. Ltd. is a private joined venture company which registered in 1997. It mainly specialize in processing and offering frozen fruits especially of wild berries and cultivated fruits, frozen vegetables, fruits and vegetables concentrates, agricultural and forestry by products, and other foods products.
All our products are produced for Exporting. The large export quantities each year are frozen berries and fruits. Each year we produce and export: IQF/BF Wild Lingonberry abut 500 tons, IQF/BF Wild blueberry about 100 tons, IQF/BF Strawberry about 300 tons, IQF/BF Raspberry about 150 tons, IQF/BF Blackcurrant about 100 tons. Other products are unstable depends on the contracts we signed each year.
Our Products are mainly exported to European Union, Japan, United States, Australai, New Zealand and Middle East. Export amount exceeds 1.5 million US Dollars each year.
We have two coldstores. One located at the raspberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries and strawberries cultivated area which mainly be used as processing iqf and blockfrozen raspberry and blackcurrant. Another one located at the wild lingonberry and wild blueberry grow area which be used for processing iqf and block frozen products.
We have other cold stores and factories which fully controlled by us. These can guarantee us to produce the relative products whenever we have all kinds of contracts.
Our strategy is to produce at our own factories and at source in fully controlled factories. We also entrust other factories which most of them need us offering funds in advance for them to collect the raw materials to produce for us under our contracts and our control.
