INTRODUCTION:
NKM designs the VSD series Vertical Screw Dryer (or sometimes called Conical Screw Dryer) based on our CSM series Conical Screw Mixer.
The Vertical Drying Equipment has the heating jacket built outside of the cone vessel.
When deaeration processing is required, vacuum system is installed to maintain the vacuum inside the cone vessel. In this case the top is usually made of a dish head instead of flat cover.
HOW IT WORKS:
The VSD series Powder Dryer features a slow-running agitating screw. During the drying process, this screw gently lifts material upwards from the cone bottom to the top along the heated sidewalls; at the same time, the materials at the top level will fall back down in opposition to the moving direction of the agitating element. Besides, because the screw will also orbits around the center of the vessel, it moves every part inside the cone vessel to eliminate any blind corner.
With the highly efficient exchange of materials from bottom to the top and from side to the center, the drying is fast and homogeneous.
ADVANTAGES:
Due to the very gentle mixing of VSD series Vertical Drying Machine, the product attrition and generation of fines is minimized. This makes the VSD series Vertical Screw Dryer ability to treat even the most delicate materials such as flakes.
What is more, the low impact blending of the VSD series Vertical Dryer is ideal for abrasive materials, while they would abrade the horizontal mixer quickly.
