All parts in contact with brine or water are of stainless steel, galvanized or effectively anti-corrosion treated. The brine-tank is fully insulated and covered by removable panels. The ice-cans are of stainless steel. The ice is harvested with the aid of an electric overhead crane with push button control. Strong heating elements in the trawling bath ensure that the blocks detach quickly from the cans. The blocks then slide smoothly through an aperture into the ice storage room.
