Joint ring gasket
API Ring joint Gaskets are machined from variety types of forged solid metal such as soft iron, ANSI304, ANSI316, ANSI321 metal or other alloy metal etc. The hardness of the ring should always be 30-40HB less than the Flanges hardness to prevent flange deformation. Dimension of standard ring joint gaskets and grooves are covering ASME B16.20 and API 6A, API 17D and ASME B16.5/B16.20. It main including the following range:
BKG100A R type Oval Ring Joint Gasket
Ring joint gasket with oval cross section is initially developed for high temperature and pressure applications. It is still used in the old type round bottom groove today
BKG100B R type Octagonal Ring Joint Gasket
Ring joint gasket with Octagonal cross section is prefered by morden grooved flanges and has a higher sealing efficiency than oval types.
BKG100C RX Ring Joint Gasket
RX is used at pressures up to 15, 000 psi (103 MPa). It is adhered to API 6A and interchangeable with standard Octagonal rings, it can take advantage of container fluid pressure well to effect a seal
BKG100D BX Ring Joint Gasket
All BX gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalization of pressure which may be trapped in the grooves, it is only used in API 6BX flanges. BX is used at pressures up to 15, 000 psi
Ring Joint Gasket for Flange specification:
1)To API 6A standard.
2)To ASME B16.20 standard.
3)To fit ASME, BS and DIN flanges.
