Q: Why are your prices slightly higher than some suppliers in China? A: We have inherited all risks and costs to import from China to our warehouse in the UK. We have paid all custom duty, custom clearance and shipping cost as well as storage; leaving our buyers with nothing to worry about. To learn more about the risks we have eliminated for our buyers, please read 'How to Avoid Scam' in the FAQs below. Q: What are the differences between Gold supplier and a non Gold supplier A: A non Gold supplier is a free member and pretty much anyone can make a free member account. Free membership is often used by fraudsters offering fake or non-existing products well below market prices. A Gold supplier such as we ourselves are verified by Symantec and therefore you have the assurance of knowing that you are dealing with a legitimate business. Q: How is shipping costs calculated A: We are one of the very few suppliers who have no intention of making any profit out of transit, we usually quote shipping prices directly from courier services. We also welcome our customers to arrange their own shipping. Q. How do I deal with customs (EU)? A: As the goods are normally dispatched from our warehouse in the UK, there will be no hassle of dealing with customs yourselves and the goods can be in free circulation between the member states of the European Union. Q. Can I import directly from your factory to get a cheaper price? A: Yes, we are also happy for you to enter into contract directly with our Chinese head office, let us know and you will be transferred to our specialist team in China; different terms and condition may apply. Q. How To Avoid Scam Below market value prices Many importer holds an unrealistic assumption if it is made outside of the EU, it must be 'dirt cheap'; although this may be in the 80s and 90s, unfortunately, it is no longer the case. A lot of fraudsters take advantage of this perception to bait their victims with below market value prices. If it is too good to be true, it most likely is. Cheap shipping cost Frauds do not only limit to supplying products not matching description or even not supplying at all; some suppliers offer genuine products with cheap prices and make profit from hidden shipping costs. Some suppliers will give you a cheap shipping cost quote but once the goods arrive to your port, there will be additional charges to be paid to the shipping company for unloading and other charges. These charges, usually adds up to a 4 figures sum in Euro and British Sterling. How does the supplier make money from this? They get a generous 'commission' from the shipper. Case Study Company A contracted to import goods worth of 15,000 GBP from Supplier B. The shipping cost was quoted as 300 GBP. Company A paid Supplier B for the goods and shipping. When the goods arrived to the UK port, Company A received a bill from the Shipping Company C charging Company A 1800GBP to release the goods from their port and an additional storage fee of 250 GBP per day if the goods are not released within 5 days. The above scenario shows just how much money a buyer can lose and the type of situation buyers could end up in when dealing with a non-EU supplier. |
