I. Introduction

AC-01 oxide type is new generation of ammonia synthesis catalyst invented in China. AC-01 is features as easy reduction, higher activity, good performance at low temperature, wide range of applicable pressure and temperature, better performance of anti-toxic and heat resistance and higher mechanical strength.

AC-01 oxidation catalyst is used together with AC-01H pre-reduced catalyst can meet the customers requirement of getting better results to make significant economic efficiency.

II. Application

AC-01 catalyst are mainly used for synthesize ammonia from mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen in the ammonia industry and also used for ammonia cracking to make purified hydrogen and nitrogen. AC-01 catalyst generates activity after being reduced in the synthetic converter.

AC-01 catalyst is applicable for various kinds of converters, including large, medium and smaller scale of the ammonia plants.

AC-01 can be used at all industrial range pressures. It is suitable for all kinds of high and low pressure flows, especially for medium and low pressure ammonia synthesis converters. Its operating temperature can be reduced with the pressures lowering.

III. Physical Properties and Chemical Composition:

3.1 The main compositions of AC-01 catalyst are FeO and balanced aluminum oxide, potassium oxide and calcium oxide and other trace co-catalysts.

3.2 The appearance of AC-01 is bright black irregular granules with no magnetic feature. The particles size are 1.5 3.0mm, 2.2-3.3mm, 3.3-4.7mm, 4.7-6.7mm, 6.7-9.4mm, 9.4 13.0mm and 3-6mm, 4.5 8mm, 6 10mm, 8 12mm and etc. The granules size can be customized as per customers requirements. This serial products are produced by using angle grinding process, which is good for lowering bed pressure drop and can minimize the catalyst broken rate.

3.3 The bulk density of AC-01 oxidized catalyst is 2.8 3.1 kg/L. The bulk density may be a little bit larger when the granules size increasing.

3.6 This serial catalyst is easy to get moisture when exposed to air and further to result in separating out the soluble potassium from the catalyst and cause the activity very low.

3.7 Oxygen, steam, CO, CO2, sulfur, phosphor, Al, As compound and oil are all the toxicities to this catalyst, poison the catalyst temporarily or permanently.
