Product Description
APAO (Amorphous Poly Alpha Olefin) is a kind of low molecular, non-polar, atactic thermoplastic polyolefins, co-polymerized by propylene and ethylene or other alpha-olefin. APAO exhibits excellent chemical stablity, high/low temperture property, anti-UV, acid and alkali resistance and insulation resistance.
It's an excellent polymer modifier for plastics, rubber and bitumen.

In rubber compounds:
APAO is a kind of on-purpose produced APP (Atactic polypropylene) which has been widely used in rubber products (such as rubber boots, rubber hoses, rubber strips^) as rubber modifier (softening agent).
APAO is a low molecular copolymer of a-olefin (ethylene, propylene...), which has good compatibility with non-polar rubber. with APAO in rubber formulation, the rubber achieves better processability due to the decrease of molecular weight and mooney viscosity. Meanwhile, the rubber products get much lighter without sacraficing mechanical strength. APAO is much cheaper than rubber, so the APAO modified formulation allows great cost effectiveness.
In hot melt adhesive, APAO exhibits/is:
1. Good adhesiveness to PP, PE, paper, metal and so on;
2. High temperature resistance;
3. Excellent electric and non- corrosive properties;
4. Good compatibility with SBS, EVA, and tackifier;

In protective& marine coating:
APAO is a modifier for brittle resin like epoxy resin.
Epoxy resin coating is one of the most widely used coating products thanks to the superior stickness to metal and the mechanical&chemical performance of epoxy resin. However, after curing the epoxy resin coating tends to be brittle, which results in bad anti-impact performance and peeling strength.
1. APAO is used in epoxy resin coating formulation as an non-active impact strength improver as well as carrier resin, which facilitates to keep the coating intact for long time to assure the anti-corrosion performance.
2. APAO improves the high temperature property of the epoxy resin coating, especially in circumstances of high moisture.
3. APAO also works as thickener, helping to raise the filling rate.
4. APAO improves the anti-UV performance of the coating.
As bitumen modifier (waterproofing membranes, road pavement...), APAO shows:

APAO--Fixing adhesive for aluminium capacitor
APP(atactic polypropylene), a kind of by-product of iPP production(iPP: Isotactic polypropylene), used to be used as the fixing adhesive for aluminium capacitor. with the development of iPP production technology, the by-product is getting less and less. Aluminium capacitor makers are sourcing the alternative.
APAO (Amorphous poly alpha olefin), a kind of ethylene propylene copolymer in amorphous type, is also called as on-purpose produced APP. Different from the randomness of APP, APAO could be designed intentionally according to different needs.
