Petroleum Resin C9
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Rayton SG series C9 resins are obtained from polymerizing C9 fraction, a by-product of ethylene derived from the process of thermal cracking of naphtha.
MAJOR USAGES
Rubber Compounding Agent
SG-90/SG-90D/SG-100/SG-100D is widely used in the compounding of nature rubber and synthetic rubber, particularly SBR rubber, and it improves tackiness, flow properties, and serves as an ex-tender.
Adhesives, Hot-Melt Adhesives, Press-Sensitive Tape
SG-110/SG-120 is being used as the tackifier and compounding agents for adhesives or press sensitive adhesives tape in place of rosin and polyterpene resin thereby it plays an important role for the cost reduction.
Paints
SG-120/SG-120D is being successfully employed for general use in the coating industry as oleoresinous vehicles. It improves resistance to alkalis and water, dry speed, light stability and gloss of alkyd enamel vanishes and it also gives the advantages to the production cost of alkyd enamel vanishes.
Printing Ink
SG-130/SG-140 is used as vehicle for newspaper printing ink. With such ink, it is possible to get brilliant, fine and abrasion-proof printing.

STORAGE
Rayton SG series C9 resins with a low softening point present a risk of solidifying, which increases in hot weather. Therefore for for Rayton® SG series C9 resins with the softening points of below 110 ° C, we recommend: Storage in a cool (25° C, max), ventilated area, out of the sunlight; Do not double stack since the additional pressure will cause storage stability problems; Avoid storage for prolonged period.
SG-100/SG-100D: Due to low softening point, serious solidifying of product may occur when exposed to elevated temperatures. Customer accepts the responsibility for using solidified material.
SHELF LIFE
Rayton SG series C9 resins are inert and stable. Their shelf life mainly depends on the storage conditions. Their average shelf life is typically at least 2 years. This average shelf life is given without Rayton's guarantee because Rayton does not control the storage conditions at customers.
