Product Description

1. Introduction
B204 is one kind of low temperature shift catalysts, which help to convert CO and H2O into CO2 and H2 in feed gas in the range of 180~260° C.
B204 is an energy-saving catalyst, and it shows outstanding advantages of good activity in low temperature and excellent selectivity under low steam gas ratio condition(~0.3).
B204 is used for accelerating the reaction of CO with H2O to produce CO2 and H2at low temperature of 180~260° C:
Main reaction: CO+H2O CO2+H2 Δ H2980= -41KJ/mol
Side reaction: CO+2H2 CH3OH Δ H2980= -90.64KJ/mol

3. Charging
1)Place Ø 15~25mm aluminum balls or ceramic bals in the top and bottom of catalyst bed, and set wire screen between catalyst and aluminum balls or ceramic balls.
2)The catalyst should not have a free fall of more than 50~100cm.
3)The catalyst must be distributed evenly as the bed is loaded.
4)Operators inside the vessel should wear dust-prevention mask, helmet and air breathing apparatus and stand on a wooden board. To stand on the catalyst directly, stacking the catalyst on one fixed point and then distribute evenly is not allowed.
5)Record the charging level during charging and adjust loading density accordingly.

4. Reduction of LTS catalsyt
5.1 Reduction reaction
Low temperature shift catalyst are supplied in the oxide form and they must be reduced to matellic copper, which is the active species, before they are used.


5. Shut down and Discharging

Shut down

A. During plant shut down period process gas must be purged reactor to avoid the condensation of water on the catalyst.

B. For short or long time shut down but no need of open reactor should purge the reactor with nitrogen.

C. The operation procedure of passivation is same as new.

D. Re start up a cool reactor should pre heat it to above dew point with nitrogen and then introduce process gas.

Discharging

A. Reduce the pressure in the reactor to atmosphere and decrease temperature to about 150° C.

B. Purge reactor with steam or nitrogen until hydrogen is less than 0.1%.

C. Mix oxygen about 0.1~0.5% and temperature rise no more than 50° C, then increase oxygen content gradually until reactor fill with air.

D. The catalyst is passviated complete and catalyst can be unloaded
