Features of sand filter

Sand  filter can widely used at different application, such as water filtering, cooling water by-pass filtering, waster water treating, etc.
1. Sand  filter has flexible modules, which can combined under actual flow rate, on-site area. 
It is operated backwash automatically, with time control, differential pressure control. Each filter element start backwash one by one, while no need stop operation in backwash. 
2. With smooth water allocation. High efficiency in backwash, water saving, only 30% water consumption of traditional one. Filter uses ASM filter media, which is easy wash.
3. With unique 48" ball filtering unit, and light weight for the whole system. The normal concrete base can used to place. Easy install, no need any boom equipment.
4. With good anti-corrosion feature. 
5. With lost cost, but long lifetime.
6. Water quality: inlet water turbidity <80mg/L, outlet quality reach <20mg/L
                        inlet water turbidity <20mg/L, outlet quality reach <5mg/L

2. Application

Shallow Medium Filter is mainly used in pre-treatment in water turbidity removal, water softening, electrodialysis, electrodialysis reversal. However, it makes function on surface water, under ground water as well.
Shallow Medium Filter can also be widely used in fields of electronic power, petrochemical, metallurgy, electroplating, paper-making, textile, pharmacy, soft drinks, living water, industrial water, swimming pool, etc.

3. Working Principle

1. Filtering


When filter is under operation, the original water flow into packing layer advective by through the upper water distributor, in where matched with spherical shell. Impurities are hold back at packing layer. Then Collector under filter will accept these water, and flows out them. One thing needs to emphasizes that advective filtering can improve the filter efficiency under the high speed operation.

2. Backwash

He head loss increases as the impurities accumulates at packing layer continuously. When it comes into a limit or reached to time limit, system will switched into backwashing to clean packing layer's impurities. To clean these accumulated impurities is a must thing.
In the process of backwash, the on-off switch of three-way valve will be changed by PLC, with inlet closed, and drain let open. Impurities will out through three-way vale's drain outlet.
On FQG system, a circulation exists at packing layer under the function of the specialized collector. Silica sand rub each other, which high efficiently improves the backwash. When backwash is finished, valve returns to filtering state, which another filtering comes into backwash.
Normally a filter system is made of multi-filter tank, they work in turn, which ensure there's no stop in backwash.
