Lihe exothermic welding is a high temperature reaction of powdered copper oxide and aluminum. The chemical equation is 2Cu2O+2Al=6Cu+Al2O3 ( the temperature can be in excess of 2500° C. ) It is a method of welding copper, iron, steel and ferroalloy without outside power.
In order to weld different sizes conductor, a graphite mold is needed. It is only to put the conductor need welding in the mold, dump powder into the mold, ignite the starting powder, than the reaction takes place. Making a exothermic welding connection

Close lid, ignite the starting powder with the flint gun.
Reaction takes place in the graphite mold.
Open the lid when it is cold. The welding connection is done.
