Industrially:
Ferrous sulphate is mainly used as a precursor to other iron compounds. It is a reducing agent, for the reduction of chromate in cement.
Agricultural:
Ferrous sulphate is a mineral additive in animal feed, it can stimulate the growth of animal's body. Granule material is good fertilizer, which can effectively improve soil, move moss and lichen. It also is used as pesticide for prevention of pathological changes of wheat and fruit tree.
Colorant:
Ferrous sulphate can also be used to make pigment such as red ferric oxide.
Water Treatment:
Ferrous sulphate has been applied for the purification of water by flocculation and for phosphate removal in municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants to prevent eutrophication of surface water bodies
