FOAM GLASS (Insulation Material)
Foam glass is a new kind of inorganic thermal insulating material with a structure of equally closed cells. It is mainly made of glass powder added with adequate foaming agents after heating and baking in high-temperature tunnel furnace, then annealed. It well reserves the chemical stability of inorganic glass. As a result, it has the following features:
1. Low density, approximately 150kg/m³ ;
2. Low thermal conductivity; Under 0.060 W/m. K(38degree), the thermal conductivity is stabilized;
3. Humidity resistance;
4. Low moisture absorption rate, around 0.2%;
5. Inflammable;
6. Mold resistance, corrosion free;
7. High strength, press resistance≥0.7Mpa; Bending resistance ≥0.5Mpa;
8. Acid corrosion resistant (except for hydrogen fluoride);
9. Non-toxic, containing no CFC and HCFC;
10. Stable physical and chemical performance, stable dimension.
Foam glass, nontoxic in itself, has stable chemical properties and good thermal insulating performance protecting from deteriorating at a wide temperature range from cryogenic temperature to high temperature. At the same time, it can protect from humidity, fire and erosion. It is praised as "permanent thermal insulating material with no need of renewal", because it is not only safe but also durable in rigor conditions of low and cryogenic temperature, underground, open air, flammability, moisture sensitivity and even chemical erosion.

Features of Foam Glass
1. It is obtained after fine grinding of non-organic glass, fusing, foaming under 800~90038degree, annealing and cooling. The working temperature ranges from -200~+40038degree.
2. The moisture permeation of this glass is 0.00, with 100% sealed bubbles, this glass is a light insulation material with reliable and long lasting waterproofing capability.
3. Foam glass is completely inflammable, non-aging, non-molding and non-radioactive. Besides, it doesn't emit any toxic fumes and the performance remains constant, being a completely harmless construction material to human health.
4. The expansion and contraction rate of foam glass is 9.0 X 10-6 /degree, being the lowest among the insulation material and almost the same as that of cement and steel. The stability in dimension makes it the most it the appropriate as insulating and waterproofing material with no cracks.
5. The press resistant strength of foam glass is (≥7kg/cm² ), capable of withstanding the heavy loads of the roofs of such constructions a parking lot buildings, aviation buildings and refrigerated warehouse, etc.
