Glucomannan is high molecular non-ionic polymer mannan (glucomannan)mainly composed of mannan and glucose which is linked together by β-1, 4 bond [molar ratio of 1.6: (1 ~ 4)], along the glucomannan backbone there is an acetyl group every other 9 to 19 monosaccharide units which helps dissolve glucomannan. The average molecular weight is 0.2 to 2 million. Glucomannan (GM) has a strong expansion force, it can fill the stomach and eliminate hunger feeling, and because of its minimal calories, it can achieve weight control diet fitness goal; But in fact it is food thickener which can cause intestinal obstruction and thereby affect the appetite, eventually it can lead to digestive disorders, and cause arrhythmia.
Function:
In the pharmaceutical industry, it can effectively reduce cholesterol, blood sugar and weight, it can be used to treat high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity and constipation;
In food product, it has weight loss fitness effect.
