Physical and chemical properties
1. HEMC is white or off -white, odorless and tasteless powder
2. Dissolubility: It almost dose not dissolve in hot water, acetone, ethanol, ethyl ether, and toluene, it dissolve in water and some solvent, such as, the suitable proportion of ethanol/water, propanol /water. Its aqueous solution provides surface activity and high transparent and stable properties, various products have different gel temperature which is the thermal gel properties HEMC, Solubility changes with viscosity, lower the viscosity is, higher the solubility is, different type of HEMC have different properties. Its dissolution is not subject to pH in water. HEMC can dissolve in cold water but not dissolve in hot water, It dose not dissolve in most organic. The surface treated HEMC disperses in cold water without agglomeration. Its dissolution speed is a little slow. But it can dissolve quickly when pH is adjusted to 8-10.
3. pH stabilization: Viscosity varies a little at the range of pH 2-12. Viscosity decrease when pH exceeds this range.
4. Particle size: ≥ 99% through 80 mesh, 100% through 60 mesh
5. Apparent density: 0.30-0.60g/cm3
IV. Packing, Storage and Transportation
Package: Plastics-paper bag outside, lined with PVC bag.
Storage: Seal tightly, Exposing to the sun and rain is forbidden, to avoid absorption of moisture and contact with acid and alkali
Transportation: As common moisture-proof chemical.
