MIM has been recognized as a cost-effective way to produce parts for critical applications requiring both high precision and high reliability, as in firearms, automotives, air and power tools. Apart from tensile property, fatigue strength is an important criterion for long-term reliability. Normally, a finer powder can lead to higher strengths of sintered part with more uniform and densified microstructure. Low-alloy steel 4605, which contains 0.4-0.6% carbon and 1.5-2.5% nickel, remains to be the most economic commercial powder for producing structural components that require considerable hardness and strength. It allows a variety of heat treatment process as allowed by wrought carbon steels. In heat treated state, its hardness can reach HRC 55 with UTS ranging up to 1900 MPa.

Eversun's MIM process starts with mold design and making to be followed by feedstock compounding, injection molding, debinding, sintering, and all necessary secondary operations, including heat treating, coining, grinding, sandblasting, polishing, plating, etc. In-house tool manufacturing allows us to significantly reduce time-to-market and to respond to customer's design changes more efficiently.
Our feedstock uses carefully selected high quality powder on the market along with our proprietary binder system. All feedstock is tested against its designed properties prior to release to production. An additional cavity for standardized tensile test samples according to ISO2740 is incorporated into pretty much every tool, allowing us to monitor the mechanical properties of every production run. Once the pilot production of a new part works out well, all process conditions and parameters used will be documented and adhered to in later productions. All those procedures comprise our quality system that is in compliance with ISO9001: 2008.
