Milton Pianos are carning a global reputation for incredible sound quality and value. In this world mass production where other manufacturers produce pianos with mechanized efficiency we are one of only a few manufacturers that still craft our pianos by hand. Other manufactureres typically take only 40 man hours to produce a grand piano. Our hand carved grand takes more than 350 man hours to build. Our lowest priced model takes over 200 man hours to craft. As you can see production in the quickest amount of times is not our greatest concern, the quality that is inherant in hand crafting is always first and foremost in our minds.
The rim of our grand piano is hand formed from over 20 layers of select woods using green technology then placed into special presses. Our frame is one of the strongest in the industry providing radial strength and connected to the rim with dovetail joints, the same joinry used in $100, 000 painos. Our cast iron internal frame which we call the "mark" are individually hand cast. This process eliminates flaws and provides for beautiful tonal performance. We select the best solid spruce for our soundboards. Flawless and clear this spruce is hand shaped to our exacting specifications. If you come to our factory you will see craftsmen shaping these soundboards the same way Milton craftsmen have done for over one hundred years. This is one way that our pianos have the ageless beautiful sound that we expect from all our pianos. We use German Roslau strings in our piano. The very best in the world. These strings are tuned in our piano over eight times. This is three more than the industry standard of five. This means your piano will maintain tune longer after initial installation. Our pianos are investment grade pianos, with a multilayer polyester finish in eigher satin of gloss. We hope you enjoy the safety of our slow-closing fallboard.
