Usage: It is mainly used to produce antioxidant 264 (2, 6-di-tert-butyl-p-methyl phenol) or antioxidant T501. In pharmaceutical industry, it is used as the intermediate for TMB and TMP and as antiseptic. In dyes industry, it is used to produce o-nitro-p-methyl phenol and fluorescent whitening agent DT. In plastic industry, it is used to produce phenolic resin and plasticizer. It is also an important intermediate to produce pesticides.
