Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited (the "Company") is one of the largest petrochemical enterprises in the People's Republic of China("PRC"). In July 1993, the Company became the first company organised under the laws of the PRC to make a global equity offering, and its shares are listed on the Shanghai Securities Exchange, The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and the New York Stock Exchange.
Since the listing of its shares, the Company has drawn both domestic and international attention. The Company has won the Best Disclosure Award organised by The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in 1996.
