Pot Type Rubber Bridge Bearings

The basic elements of Pot Type Rubber Bridge Bearings consists of a shallow cylinder, known as pot, an elastomeric pad known as disc, a single or set of sealing rings, piston and sliding surfaces. Masonry plates and base plates are common for the installation of pot bearings, as they allow attachment of the bearings and increase the support area on the pier and abutment. Pot type rubber bridge bearings are fixed against all translation unless they are used with a PTFE sliding surface.
Pot bridge bearing can be used in steel or concrete structures. These low profiles, compact bearings are particularly useful to transmit large vertical load while accommodating large movements and multi-directional rotation. Separate mechanisms for rotation and translation (where applicable) provide minimum eccentricity of the load and minimum frictional resistance to movement. High side loads can also be accommodated simultaneously.
