Introduction:
HA provides key benefit by preventing the evaporation of water from the skin. This is very important as water loss or de-hydration can lead to pre-mature aging. It is the most effective hydration molecule available today, thus be called as "the best natural moisturizing component". For a basic supplement in daily use of personal care product, it is vital and necessary. And it is a "must have" active ingredient in any topical skincare product. By long time use the skin is elastic and smooth.
Characteristic:
White or almost white, very hygroscopic powder, odorless. Turn to clear solution when dissolved in water. Insoluble in ethanol, acetone and aether.
Application:
It has good compatibility and can be added in various cosmetics such as facial mask, gel, cream, milk, lotion, essence for water retention, anti-aging, reduce acne, whitening and anti-allergy, make-up, lipstick, shampoo, sun-screening products, speckle-removing products, etc.
Dosage:
Molecule weight range is quite wide for HA, from thousand to million Dalton. Different M. W. HA result to different using effect. For cosmetic purpose, not more than 1.5 million Dalton.
1. Facial cleaner (firming lotion) should 0.8 million.
2. Milk used for protecting skin should 1-1.3 million.
3. Eye caring solution should 1.3-1.5 million.
4. Improve product effect.
Dissolution:
HA has large electronegative charge which requires careful operation when dissolving.
1. Should dissolved with purify non-ion water
2. Avoid using cation material, trying anion or non-ion to reject sedimentation.
3. Neatness working environment is required, use up all HA once open the packing. Adding preservative is necessary under special condition.
