1. What's the UHMW-PE PIPE
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a kind of engineering thermoplastics with more than 2.5 million viscosity-average molecular weight, under the polymerization of ethylene, butadiene monomer in the catalyst. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe has the superior performance such as very high wear resistance, impact resistance, excellent resistance to internal pressure strength, resistance to environmental stress cracking, eminent self-lubricating, anti-adhesion, the unique low temperature resistance, good chemical stability and so on, and it is widely used in metallurgical mines, electric power, petroleum, natural gas, textiles, paper making, food, chemical industry, machinery, electrical and other industries.
2. Raw material of UHMWPE Pipe
UHMWPE is a thermoplastic engineering plastic with a viscosity-average molecular weigh greater than 1.5× 106, and is made by polymerization of ethylene under the action of a catalyst. Its molecular weight has reached over 5 million, its five properties of abrasion, impact and corrosion resistance, self-lubrication, and absorption of impact energy are the best among the available plastics. It is called globally "marvelous plastics" UHMWPE, a new star of materials, will present a vigorous life and play an important part in many regions of the national economy.
3. Superior performances of UHMWPE PIPE:
1)Extremely high wear resistance;
Its wear resistance is 6.6 times higher than normal alloy steel, 27.3 times that of stainless steel, 17.9 times that of phenolic resin, 6 times that of nylon 6, 4 times that of polyethylene, and it increases the life of the pipeline substantially.
2)High impact resistance: It won't damage by Cantilever beam impact test according to GB1843 standards
3)High corrosion resistance: It can withstand hydrochloric acid with less than 80% concentration
4)High-pressuer resistance: The working pressure is between 0.2Mpa to 4.0Mpa
5)Good self-lubrication: Its self-lubrication is better than steel or brass with oil
6)The unique resistance to low temperature: It can be used within -269 to 80 degrees Celsius.
7)Not easy to form dirt: It can't form dirt in the medium with PH value of 9 or above
8)Long life-span: It can maintain more than 70% mechanical properties after it is buried and used for 50 years.
9)Easy installation: The weight of unit length of UHMWPE pipe is only one-eighth of the steel pipe, it is possible whether it is welded or connected by flange.
