This mortar resiliometer makes the hammer drive the pointer to rebound and indicate rebound distance through the restoring force of instantaneous elastic deformation produced by using the spring to drive the bounce hammer and using the bounce rod to bounce the surfaces of the brick samples, and calculates the compressive strength of mortar and labels by taking rebound value as one of the relevant indexes for evaluating the compressive strength of mortar. It is used for the nondestructive testing for the compressive strength of masonry mortar in ordinary fired brick masonry for industrial and civil buildings.

Moreover, it is one of the compiling units of Technical Regulations on Rebound-method Detection of Concrete Compressive Strength (JGJ/T23-2001), the national industry standard.
