A major international food safety conference in Beijing has been postponed "until after China's 60th National Day celebrations are completed." The China International Food Safety & Quality Conference and Expo, supported by the State General Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, was originally scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 September. However, it has, at short notice, been rescheduled to take place on 4 and 5 November. "China is about to hold a series of grand events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic from mid-September in Beijing. For this reason, the CIFSQ is to be postponed," says a notice on the official website. "The Organizing Committee regrets any inconvenience caused and looks forward to welcoming your participation when it reconvenes."
