Dezhou black pottery is a non-glazed pottery, with its origin in the Neolithic Longshan Culture some 4, 000 years ago, is made in Dezhou, City of Shandong Province, where Longshan Culture thrived. Fashioned after ancient products, the new black pottery is still deeply rooted in the traditional folk art in craft, pattern, etc.

Dezhou black pottery is made from the red clay of Beijing-Hangzhou canal.
