Product Description

Commercial name: Brucite
Chemical content: Mg(OH)2
Physical property: Soluble in dilute acid and ammonium salt solution, almost insoluble in water and alcohol. Solubility (18centigrade) is 0.0009 g / 100 g in water. Easy absorb carbon dioxide from the air. Comes into magnesium oxide and water when heated to 350 centigrade.
Application: Flue gas desulfurization, absorb the acid gas in the flue gas.

Product feature for FGD:
1: High efficient
Chemical reactivity of magnesium hydroxide is much higher than calcium-based desulfurizer, and the molecular weight of magnesium hydroxide is smaller than calcium carbonate and calcium oxide, so the desulphurization efficiency of magnesium hydroxide is much higher at the same codition. Normally the desulphurization efficiency of magnesium hydroxide is 95~98%, and the desulphurization efficiency of limestone/parget is only 90~95%.
2: Less investment
Because of its desulphurization efficiency, small size absorption tower can be designed, less circulation size can be used, small power can be supplied. So the whole investment can be save 20%.
3: Lower operating cost
The main cost is desulfurizer and utilities, the consumption of magnesium hydroxide is around 40% of CaCO3 when removal same quantity SO2. When compare the utilities cost, the liquid-gas-ratio is very important, the liquid-gas-ratio of CaCO3 system is 15L/m3 and the ratio of Mg(OH)2 system is less than 7L/m3. And the by product can be sold when use Mg(OH)2 system.
4: Stable operation
There is no scaling when use Mg(OH)2 system, and the PH value can be controlled between 6.0 and 6.5 when use Mg(OH)2 system to improve the equipment corrosion.
