The PRC1088 is an advanced VHF/FM radio system that operates in fixed-frequency, fixed-frequency/secure, hopping, and hopping/secure modes. It is offered in manpack, vehicular and fixed-station configurations. It is a rugged and reliable radio that is easy to operate and maintain. It offers eighteen preset channels - nine for fixed-frequency and nine for frequency hopping. It comes equipped with a comprehensive B.I.T.E. system to facilitate rapid fault detection down to the module level.
The PRC1088 is compatible with the AN/PRC-77, PRC1077, and PRC1060 in fixed-frequency modes, and with the PRC1080 Squad Radio and PRC2100V in fixed-frequency, hopping and secure modes.
