Product Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
SOC-130D oil-based drilling fluids rheological additive is an easy dispersing, self
activating organoclay/Organophilic Clay that exhibits high performance efficiency in diesel, low
aromatic mineral oil, poly, linear and isomerized alpha olefins, and modified
vegetable oil contained base fluid formulations. It is highly effective in all-oil and
invert emulsion drilling fluids, fracture and work-over fluids.
 
APPLICATIONS AND ADVANTAGES
SOC-130D is a self-activating gallant offering rapid yield development, high gel
strengths, and increased efficiency. It's an attractive alternative to conventional clay gallants that required higher shear and chemical activation for optimal dispersion and performance. The unique properties are especially valuable in low-shear mud plant operations and during completion fluid manufacture at the well-site. It also possesses good low temp. incorporation properties. It imparts high gel strengths inverts and all-oil muds, as indicated by their high low shear Brookfields viscosities. This translates into muds and slurries having improved anti-setting and downhole sag resistance properties.

We note that a small amount of water (0.1-0.2% by weight of total formula) added to all-oil muds further speeds the gelation process and optimizes organoclay use. Agitate well when mixing SOC-130D with the mud. 
 
Since it is an easy dispersing organoclay, less work will be required to incorporate it into the drilling fluid, and to build initial viscosity.

USAGE
The recommended dosage is 1.0%-3.0% (10 to 30 kg/m3) of total circulation mud
volume. Treatment concentration will vary depending on the type of mud system, solids content and oil-water ratio.
While building the new mud system, slowly add SOC-130D into base oil with effectively
shearing and mixing by mixing pump, agitators and mud guns at the same time.
Avoid mixing rapidly.
A mask and goggles should be worn to prevent inhalation of dust and contact with the
eyes. Fresh air ventilation should be provided in the mixing area.
 
PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Kraft paper bag with PE liner or multi-wall paper sacks or customized. 25kg/bag.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container closed. Store away from incompatibles. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping and/or stacking.
