Product Description
K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex is a styrene acrylic copolymer emulsion to make a flexible and waterproofing modified cementitious membrane after mixing with Poland cement. The cured mortar bonds to concrete and other surfaces and will water resist both positive and negative pressure.
K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex provides improved chemical resistance and is therefore suitable for use in bunds and storage areas where chemicals are present.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
1. K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex is extremely flexible enabling it to cater for limited floor movement while absorbing vibration.
2. Being a waterproofing membrane, K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex prevents surface water penetration when applied correctly.
3. Suitable to make flexible and waterproofing modified cementitious membranes.
4. Used in the production of waterproofing coatings, it exhibits the following properties:

6. Excellent flexibility.
7. Excellent elongation and low temperature flexibility when it is added in waterproofing cementitious membranes.
8. Good waterproofing, alkaline and weather resistance.
MIXING
The mixing ratio is 20kg of K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex to approximately 16Kg of Poland Cement (1: 0.8).
K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex is poured into a clean vessel, and Poland Cement is added, and mixed with a mechanical mixer (350 rpm) until no lump is left and become a K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex cement admixture.
It is recommended to use low cycled (350 r/min) electrical mixer in order to make a K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex cement primer.
CAUTION
Do not allow the product to freeze.
Do not apply if the temperature is in excess of 40° C or less than 5° C.
Do not add sand to K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex as this will reduce flexibility and can cause cracking.
Ensure that the membrane is not covered by tiles or other materials for at least 24 hours after the application of the final coat, to allow the membrane to cure. If used in confined areas or in unfavorable weather, the effective drying of the membrane will take longer.
Products is not recommended for use in areas of permanent water immersion like swimming pools, spas etc. In these cases, it should be used under tiles or leveling mortars or renders.
PACKAGING
K9 Polymer Waterproofing Latex is available in 20kg and 200 kg containers.
STORAGE
Up to 12 months in unopened drums, stored in an elevated, cool dry place.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Protective clothing such as goggles, overalls and gloves is recommended to prevent any effect from prolonged skin contact, inhalation or ingestion. Refer to Health and Safety Data Sheet.
