DWC offers two versions of its popular Squad Radio family for use by those who either need or anticipate needing ECCM/COMSEC in their communications mission. Both models provide full coverage of the 30 to 88 MHz tactical VHF frequency band in 25 kHz steps. A total of 2, 320 channels are available with up to nine preset memory channels. Both transceivers are lightweight, compact, and provide effective communications in very harsh environments. Both have been tested to MIL-STD-810 for shock, vibration, immersion, and sand and dust. A sturdy carrying case is available to allow convenient mounting on the operator's body when not in use.
The PRC1080 is specifically designed for use in environments where anti-jam techniques and communications security are required. It comes standard with embedded full-band frequency hopping and high-level digital encryption.
The PRC1070 is the same radio as the PRC1080 without the ECCM/COMSEC module. It does, however, have an upgrade path that allows the user to add frequency hopping and encryption.
Both radios are interoperable with our PRC1077, PRC1088 and PRC2100V in single-channel mode, and the PRC1080 is interoperable with the PRC1088 and PRC2100V in ECCM/COMSEC modes.
For mobile applications, DWC offers the MT1060DS docking station and the MT1060MM. The former is ideal for forces that want a convenient "jerk-and-run" mobile mount that allows operation by the driver of the vehicle. For more permanent applications, the MT1060MM in conjunction with the MT1060DS offers additional power conditioning, remote control interface, and a 30W RF booster amplifier.
